Back a short 10 months ago, we all witnessed how easily we might all be rendered helpless in a scenario where our normal, grid dependent modes of communication have been taken away from us. Be it by force of nature or malevolence of man, if you pick up your phone and fail to find a signal do you have a plan to communicate with your people or coordinate emergency response. I didn't... 10 months ago.
I'd picked up amateur radio materials before and talked to a few Hams and always put off learning the material to get the license because I really wasn't interested spending a bunch of time to learn how to use archaic technology to duplicate (poorly) the capabilities we all have in our phones. The techpocalypse of early 2021 changed that. Suddenly I saw the criticality of learning how to communicate using equipment controlled solely by me and the party I was communicating with. I got my Amateur radio license and then began experimenting with different modes until I hit on a combination that allows me to reliably communicate within E Texas and W Louisiana.
If you don't have this same capability I urge you to make it to the radio presentation this Sunday PM. The class is NOT ABOUT GETTING LICENSED, and it's not about learning a bunch of theory. ITS ABOUT GETTING CAPABLE. My goal is to present exactly enough information to enable an attendee to gear up and communicate, with as little effort and investment as possible so you can move on to the next problem you need to solve in your preps. Please consider attending and if you intend to make it, please let me know.
As always, please subscribe if you wish to be kept up to date with future invites and announcements;
